Now, fond memories of an old building are certainly no determinant of future ones, and an emotional attachment to an old building is no reason to spend money on it, but that fondness and affection for the Odd Fellows Hall has certainly pushed me to pay a little closer attention as the past, current and future status of this tired old relic is debated (or not).

The Town acquired the Odd Fellows Hall several years ago with the thought of some combination of saving, restoring, and marketing this historic downtown structure.  It hasn’t exactly gone according to plan.  Years later, the building still sits as a weary reminder of the inefficiency and lack of direction that sometimes plagues local government, particularly ours… read full article
